Not sure if this is a bad thing, but I changed the oil and within 100 miles it looks brownish already, i have three other cars that hardly turn brown at all between oil changes, the festie has only 119k miles, it passed emmissions with lower numbers than my other cars too,,,, I got the car with 116k and changed the oil, it was really dark, as well as this last oil change. is this just normal on the 1.3 engine? :?:

no....if it looks brownish and not clear or black....I would say you have water leaking into the oil somewhere. It could turn black quickly if it has not had oil changes as often as it should and now that you changed it stuff could be breaking loose."FLTG4LIFE" @FINALLEVEL , "PBH"

i stand corrected, its not the muddy brown, like water would be in oil, it just looks dirty,,,maybe the previous owner did not change the oil as often i will, i guess its just cleaning the motor like its supposed to,,,hope it gets cleaner on next oil change,,,,previous cars to fix up;

However, the color of oil gives little to no indication of anything going on inside the engine.
It's usually oxidation and not "dirt".www.dantheoilman.com
