Which way to turn the fast idle screw on the carburettor to lower the fast idle? Tighten or loosen the screw to lower rpm's? Thanks.

if yours is the same as mine, the big white screw will turn counter-clockwise as if u were sitting in the car to lower the rpms. i have a problem with mine idling itself up sometimes. at least i hope thats the right screw to turn. hope maybe thats some help

Nope, the one I mean is on the other side of the carburettor near the throttle cable.
The white plastic one is for the base idle adjustment. I want to stop the engine from revving real fast when it first fires up on cold mornings.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
