      doesn't matter. I can't remember the number of new batteries I found to be bad. Take it back to where you bought it, and have them load test it. If it passes, ask them to charge it, leave it sit for 24 hours, then check the suface voltage. It should not go below 12.6V.

      Interstates are usually good batteries, too..... (Uncle Fester's lasted 10 years, and two full discharge cycles)

        ok. when i got home it was 12.94? seems high?
        as for the load test, my friend has one of those ill try it.
        my friend gave me a good battery to test to see if its the car. Ill try run it for a few days and see if i have any problems.

          no, 12.94v is not unusual. In fact, right after shutdown, its common to see voltages in the 13v range. It should not drop below 12.6v after sitting, however.
