hay guys, I was just wonder if maybe you guys could give me some insight, I notice when I go around a sharp right turn at some speed, I feel a sort of grinding or rubbing coming from the back, thinking it was the wheel bearing on that side, I replaced all rear bearings, and both rear drums (since they contain the bearing race, and they were getting shot too), the spindle looked fine and obviously never had bearings seized to it or anything,so I assembled it all, everything works hunky dory, but I still get that grinding, it feels like the tread of the tire is rubbing something because it feels rough, but I see absolutely no evidence of rubbing anywhere, and it only does it on that side, I can put the car sideways going left and no grinding sound, I know the struts are gone back there, and I was thinking the wheel is compressing so far in to the wheel well that its hitting something, but then it would probbily do it on both sides if that was the case, right? all the bearings feel perfectly seated in the back and these no noise from back there other then when this happens, any ideas?

Best bet is to just change your struts since you know they are bad anyways. It is an easy job and only costs a benjamin for a pair of GR2s. If you still hear the noise go get yourself a white or yellow tire crayon and cover the inside of the tire with the crayon and go do some hard cornering and if you hear the noise it should pretty easy to see the crayon markings. Hope this helps.

This is probable if it is coming from the front. Check the boots and see if they are gone. If so, are the joints dry or dirty, because if they are odds are your joints are bad.Originally posted by NovaSSfront cv joints

I've been debating that also, but the only thing is I feel it in my butt, and not in the steering wheel, that's why I thought it was the back end, but theres no sign of problem back there, and the drivers side axle is brand new, the other one is not and last I checked (2 months ago) the inner boot is starting to show signs of dry rot, outer boot is new as of last fall, but i'm gonna check the inner again, but I am stumped on this, the front hubs still show no sign of play either, and they were re-built at the ford dealer last year (all though that doesn't mean much :? )Originally posted by FestiHaulerThis is probable if it is coming from the front. ya, I'm stumped, I see no evedence of rubbing anywhere, and I'm pritty sure it comming from the back right wheel, I wondered at first if the spindle was cracked and was flexing under load to rub the drum on the backing plate, but when I looked at it, it looked fine, and didn't apear cracked, but then again the noise is only there under heavy side load, and the chances of me replicating that kind of force with my hands to recreate the issue is pritty unlikely
