HOW TO RESET THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT??

Im new here, Just wanted to know how to reset the check engine light in a 96 ford aspire???Took it to auto zone and they said it was the o2 sensor..wopping 350.00..anyway im goin to go to the local junk yard and get one..Or does the light reset on its own once i change it? Thanks.

350 for a o2 sensor? those guys were smoking crack. you can get a complete wide band o2 sensor kit with the gauge for that price. a new o2 sensor shouldn't be more than say 42 bucks. keep shopping and after you get it fixed for under 50 bucks then start crank calling autozone. disconnecting the battery won't work if your sensor is bad, it'll just trip the check engine light again when it does the self check every time you start the car. fix the sensor and enjoy better gas milage and power, then disconnect the battery for 5 min lol
