  • Coolant lines going into throttle body.

Can I bypass the coolant lines going into the throttle body? Has anyone done this before?

Why would you want to do that.

absolutley, people have done it many times to gain a tiny amount of horse power, I doubt you would see a gain on the b3 or even the bp but you can do it however.

What is the sensor that those coolant lines go to?

I didn't know that they went to a sensor. I can look at my haynes and see if I can find out for you.

These lines do not run to a sensor (on the B3/B6 at least). You can bypass the TB which will keep your intake air a little cooler, but if you live in cold climates you run the risk of getting a stuck throttle body (thats the purpose of the coolant running through there). I debated doing the same mod but decided the teeny gain on my B6 would not be worth the risk.
