So my gas tank is leaking... front side.. ither at or above the seam.

what should i do? try fix? replace with used? new? (eek)

has anyone tried them permatex gas tank repair kits? the ones that come in the plastic box..

a used tank up here probably wont be much better.

as for a new tank.. id really rather not... i could pick up that b6 for that price... and probably have enough $ left over for an engine stand

I've used some gas tank repair epoxy(not the kit you list here, but probably similar), on the gas tank of my motorcyle. It worked great. I put it on about five years ago and it still doesn't leak.

I'd give it a try first before replacing the tank. You don't have much to lose(maybe a little gas).

I had to replace mine 3 years a go, it rotton on top, I first took it out and repaired it with that tank epoxey, but it only lasted about 3 months and I could smell gas again, so I bought a tank that was sourced in the lower states and it looked like new when it came in, so I undercoated it, put it on, and never looked back

about a year ago i replaced my tank as well, anything over half-tank it would leak like crazy haven't had a problem since

          1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
          1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Eastwood sell a kit to seal the inside of the tank,I used that plus the epoxy on an old Mustang gas tank and it worked well.

"pan-to-tanks.com" sell a Spectrum Premium tank for $163.45 U. S. dollars plus shipping. It is $27.95 shipping in the continental U. S. You would have to contact them for shipping to Winnipeg.
