Tie rod end substitute

I read in here somewhere that tie rod ends from an Escort are the same as Aspire tie rod ends. I've looked at them and they look different. Does anyone know which other tie rod ends will fit an Aspire? Doing Aspire swap and trying to save some money.

Right on, Im interested myself. The tie rod ends for an Escort are about 1/2 the price as they are for my Aspire...I would like to know if they are interchangeable.

check autozone.com for part numbers is a place to start, but, my 93 escort does not interchange with my 93 festy.....

I am sure the numbers are differant but I believe I have read on here that they work. I am sure someone will post soon.

Found out they are the same as a Kia Rio tie rod end...

I ended up getting them from rockauto.com for 21.00 each. Shipping was extra though. Aspire swap seems like a good idea but beware of parts nickel and dimeing you to death. I'll probably like it when I'm finished.

how are the escort tie rod ends working? Did you have to do an aspire swap, or do they work right on the festy setup?

i have tie rods from a 323 on my aspire swap

I have 95 escort ends on my swap, aspire ends were like $40, i got the escort ends for $10... fits up perfectly. I even saw some escort ends with grease fittings, i wish i would have got those. next time.


the length of the sleeve that spins onto the inner tierod end will be different, but i had rod ends from two different aspires and they were different from each other, had festiva ends that were different, and i bought two kinds of escort ends: once again different. Conclusion: The length of that inner sleeve doesn't matter much as long as its withing .5" or so.

How did the taper fit in the arm, was it the same length?

You mean in the arm coming off the hub?
The taper was identical for escort/aspire, as you probably know aspire/festiva taper is different.
