  • Rack and pinion bushing install. HELP!!! PLZ HELP!!! <3<3<3

Hey guys, i just got some new parts in for my 88, my question is how do i install the rack and pinion bushing (orange package on the right.)? Thanks in advance, sorry if this has already been answered. I couldn't find anything posted about it.

You will need to removed the inner tie rod on the passenger side of the rack. Then remove the remainder of the old bushings. Then this bushings should slide into the rack. Not sure if there is any retaining clips or not but i would think those would be obvious as you remove the remainder of the old bushing.

My dad also has an 88 with a bad steering rack but is 6 hours away in a small town. I saw your other post and followed it to here. Detroit axle sent two wrong steering racks 2 years ago so it has been parked. I still have the second rack BNIB. Do you have a parts list? Order it from the festiva store?
