  • i know im dreaming but hopefully there is a way!

i know this will never work, but my 88 festy is damage in the front, not just a ding but smashed, i think some one hit a wall or something very hard just below the light. so the fender a lil crunched and the under bumper the black metal one the corner is all squished the wheel is moved back a little but is still straight and it doesn't effect the driving, an auto body shop said they would have too put it a frame puller 500+ bucks, which is a lil much for me. i was wondering if there was another way? if possible i could put some pictures up of the damage. but i was just wondering if there was a way i could do it my self. any input will help, but im starting too think i need to find a new festy to play with.

You might be able to hammer it out good enought to put new parts on. Depends on how bad its damaged. Its very solf metal. Light blows with a big wide hammer. Or heavy blows if you have some plate steel to place between the hammer and body.

        Yeah, Pics are best!
Also start thinking about using a tree and comealong with some care!
An Alignment will also be in the cards if you don't want to mess-up your tires.
I'm concerned about the wheel being moved, likely means suspension geometry is in a bad way and if not fixable/adjustable will chew up tires rapidly!
You might have to asses the situation and realize you now have a parts car!
Because you can certainly buy a Festva with a dead engine and good body cheaper than $500!

I smashed my front end and bought a new bumper for it, but the mounts on the car aren't square anymore. I plan on using a chain and a big tree or something along those lines and straighten that mother out. Could try something like that.

ratchet and chain will do about anything! I straighted my wife's 01 civic front sub-frame easily.

Blue flight leader, when you find a festiva with a good body and blown engine let me know. I'll take two.

                Easywind,

Go up to "profile" at the top of this page and click it and scroll down and add your location and I will certainly consider it!
I currently have one in my tiny garage awaiting an engine swap!
                But I'm not greedy!
Just would be nice to know if your close by as I do have some resources available to find such vehicles.
But if your in Canada or the like shipping is going to be a killer!

They have to be hosted someplace on the web. I use photobucket it is really simple to use. They have a link you just cut and paste to post photos.
