  • radiator cap

looking for specs for radiator cap on carbureted model. Current cap is rated 13 lb (Motocraft RS-70), could be weak now. Engine running warm (needle half way up gauge). About to replace so though I'd best check. Thanks.

Search found this Automotive Engine Overheating - Causes And Consequences and I consulted my old DIY car books then went ahead and bought replacment cap with same specs as current one. Rode bicycle to parts store so I could take current cap and compare. Good thing. Clerk looked up year, make, model on computer and brought out wrong size cap. Local price range for right size was $10-$20 Canadian dollars each of which is about 75 cents US so $7.50-$15 US.
