Hello, as my description states my key is stuck in the ignition. It is stuck between off and accessory and will not depress while turning. The ignition is less than a year old, so I do not think it is normal wear and tear. I cannot start the car and I can only rotate the key like 20 degrees. Anyone had a similar issue? I am about to just drill it off the steering column.

Have you tried lubrication? Squirt some oil (penetrating or lubricating) or graphite into the key hole, multiple times. Give it time to work in. Good luck.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.Comment

Thanks, good call I almost gave up too soon. Soaked it in tri flow for two nights then flushed it with the rest of the can. It cycles now, a bit rough though. I am going to play with it a bunch before I reinstall it. I am not sure if I should have lubricated it before I installed it last year.Comment
