  • 92 power loss on acceleration

My new to me 92 festiva recently started having a loss of power on acceleration when warm momentarily then recovers. I checked the operation of the vane air flow meter and it seems to be operating correctly. Checked for vacuum leaks none found. Any thoughts or has anyone had this issue too.

sorry you haven't had any response. The troubleshooting section of the Haynes manual has under "engine stumbles on acceleration" the following possibilities 1. spark plugs fouled, 2. problem with fuel injection system, 3.fuel filtre clogged, 4. fault in engine control system, 5. intake manifold air leak, 6. EGR system malfuncion. Hope that helps. You also might want to check the little screen on the fuel pump in the thank as they can get dirty over the 30 odd years these cars have been on the road. lol
