Ignition Switch Wiring

Is it just me or is there no diagram for the ignition switch in any of the manuals? Ive got the haynes, 1990 factory, and EVTM. There are 5 heavy gague wires and 4 light gague wires. I need to identify them for my remote start instalation! I wanted to do this while my dash is off but that means gettin er done this weekend.

did you look in section 149 (Component Testing), cell 6 (ignition switch) of the EVTM I think?

five heavy wires;

white = battery feed
blue/red = accessory (voltage in acc & on)
black/red = on (voltage in on)
black/white = ignition feed (voltage in on & start)
black/blue = start (voltage in start)

Now i need to figure out where a few of the remote start wires go







I think i got it all figured out except for purple and green. Do i cut the balck/blue start wire and put purple on the starter side and green on the key side?

Green ?

Red -> White

Orange -> Blue/Red

Pink -> Black/White

Red -> White

Pink/White -> N/A?

Red/White -> White

Thanks man. I guess what threw me off is it says the anti grind is optional.But now that i think about it if you dont install that i guess you just tap purple off black/blue.

Humm, just realized

dose nothing connect to black/red = on (voltage in on)? Dose it not need to be energized for the car to start/run?

Dose this wire need +12 for the car to start/run?

that wire will only have 12V when the key is in the ON position it will however lose power when switched to start but regain 12V once key is released and returned to run.

I already knew that, i need to know if that wire needs +12 to remote start.

FYI, festivas have an neutral saftey switch so if you install the system properly the car wont start in gear.

I double checked a few things; looks like red/white should go to white, and pink/white should go to black/red.

the Blk/Wht powers the coil and main relay
the Blk/Red powers the cooling fan

the only other thing is... i hooked up the start wire at the ignition switch. that circuit will be blocked by the clutch switch, wont it..
