  • Mounting front mudflaps.

I recently bought a set of kia pride plain mudflaps to add a nice touch to my b6t swapped festy. I bolted the rears up with no problems. The fronts however are confusing the heck out of me. I can't for the life of me figure out which holes on the flaps go to which holes on the vehicle, etc. If anybody has some good advice or pics it would be greatly apreciated. I did the b6t swap, the aspire swap and much more and I feel stupid that I am having such a hard time with this mod.

You've got to make your own holes. The two screws that hold the inner fender to the fender don't line up. In fact there is a bump out on the mud flap to go over them. I didn't put a set of frt one one for a long time because I didn't want to drill any holes in a perfectly good fender. They only hole that lines up is the one on the very bottom.

Do you find that they fit nicely? i was test fitting mine and i found the front ones dont line up with the fender very good. I think it was pressed up against at the top and the bottom and in the middle there was like a 1" gap

I put some back ones on yesterday. They didn't seem to fit initially but after working with them a little bit I was satisfied except for a small gap between the flap and bumper .

I was thinking to use pop rivets to mount mine up. Anyone tried this yet??

I have actually been wondering what to use to mount them, currently I think I will be going with bolts and nuts but I am open to different ideas.

Some thing like this for the back ones. These came with Brians Mazda rear flaps.

Here are some pics of some mudflaps I mounted a couple of years ago. I use some clips that slide over the edge of the metal or rubber and are treaded on the back side. Once you get the bolt in it pinches the metal or rubber like a clamp. You cant really see the clips on the frt but you can on the back ones. I think I modified the frt clips some. Cant remember that well. I used black bolts because I didnt want shiney metal showing up. I forced some silicone in the drilled hole and applied some on the bolt threads up front to prevent any rust from starting. I really hated drilling new holes but finally did. Big headed screws and washers to spread out the stress points.
