  • I don't really need to repair this..but stop it happening

So yesterday I opened my hood to put some more windshield washer fluid in(we got quite a bit of snow recently), and I noticed that something has been nesting in the far right rear corner by the strut mount thing. I also noticed that whatever it is, ate through my windshield washer fluid line! That's the second time that its happened!

Anyone have any ideas how to stop it from doing it again?

It's where you park your car...some where nearby is where the critters were born. Had a vole (field mouse) living behind the battery in a car...taking insulation from the hood to make a nest. I stopped parking near the wood pile. A warm car will not stop them

Well I park right beside a bush..but I'm no where near a farm or anything. I know its a rodent, I just was hoping to find out if there's anything that I could put there to stop it from chewing it at it again.

Try to get a cat to live under your hood?

              OK, bad joke.

I'd try coating the fluid hose in grease, or something that tastes really bad.

Another thought (and this one is out there). Buy one (or more) of those glue traps for mice. Place them strategically in your engine compartment, and see what you catch! secure the traps, so they don't go flying about if you forget about them.

              Cheers,

              Scott

Put some Decon (rat poison) under the hood and nearby were you park.

That happened to my Grandma. A cat crawled up into the engine compartment to keep warm in the winter(old 65' Chevy Nova). When she started the engine it got chewed up in the radiator fan and belts. Not pretty!

I tried those things in the actic...the mice turned them into a dance floor.

Ever bit tin foil before? If you had big-ole teeth youd hate it too.

really. As said above, have you ever chewed on tin foil? They don't like the tingle...
