  • More Help!

i know i sound like a complete retard because im having such a hard time with my door panel but i cant figure out how to take off the window regulator without breaking it. i know theres a retainer clip. i've tried yanking on it, prying at it, and shoe strings and belts. im so used to working on older trucks. all you gotta do with them is un screw it.
it'll do the 1/8 in 13.7, spin tires, and make all my drunk buddies giggle.

On the back side of the handle is a 'hairpin' type clip that holds it to the shaft. Look between the door panel and the back of the handle...you'll see it...spin the handle if necessary.

      Does this help?

      1) Insert a rag like this, and work it back and forth. You may have to come in from the opposite direction with the rag if someone put the clip in backwards.

      2) Once the clip is exposed, grab it with a needlenose and pull it out. Once the clip is removed, the handle will pull right off the shaft.

      3) To reinstall, place the clip back in the handle like this, then press it onto the splined shaft.

Maybe I'm misreading the original post. I know what the regulator is, but from what he's describing it sounds like he's just trying to get the crank off. Am I wrong? If so, I can remove my rather large pictures.

I can't really take credit for it. It's in the Haynes manual. But it's a bit hard to explain in words. You know what they say about pictures.
