  • Slipping belt

My engine is leaking oil onto the alt. belt. Before it would just squeal and annoy me, now it won't even recharge the battery if I have the headlights on.

Is there anything I can spray on the belt that will take the oil off and not ruin the belt very fast? I am swapping engines in the next month so it doesn't have to last long.

I haven't been able to find the place where it's leaking. Either today or tommorow I am taking off the alt and brackets to try and find it. If I do I'll just JB weld the damn thing.

jb weld isn;t a good thing to ever use with seals.... Permatex ultra black sealent and a new seal! prolly cam seal, crank seal, of valve cover gasket

ya, but the engine has to last me 6 days before I remove it.

I just scored a b6sohc from a yard. Waiting on a water pump gasket and timing belt or I'd be doing the swap today.

Since the belt is so cheap I think I'm going to just put the new one on today and hope it lasts the week.
