Buddy of mine has a 1987 Mazda 323 with the B6 engine... needs a thermostat housing... The local JY has a B3 thermostat... will they swap?

i'm pretty sure it would bolt on but the direction of the outlet pipe might not match the 323 rad hose bend.Comment

Yeah, thats true. The 323 thermostat comes out of the head, then turns 90 deg to the front. Bolts on fine though. Also, I think the B6 thermostat has a larger diameter outet..?
Does anyone have a B6 thermostat on a parts engine?

sorry, i meant a thermostat housing.... the one that turns 90 deg towards the front of the engine...

Nope tossed that one in the trash when i swapped for the straight festiva one. But on the upside I have to go pick up a 88 323se here in a week, so I'll have one shortly.---------------------------------------------------
