If you have to go the hacksaw route, this one should make it a little more convenient.

I think I ended up going inside there with a long sawsall metal cutting blade[more than one]and cutting the bolt on both sides of the strut end. Then there was some other stuff I did to mount the new strut but I don't remember what..........crs again.

At NCStiva a few years ago, Kartracer just cut out the beam on each side, freed the bolt, and welded it back together.
Of course, even with the bolt being easy to access, it took heat to remove it, so there was a small fire. It was a great night. That was on the car belonging to Sam1956.
That may have been the most fun I have ever had in one night.
