  • Lugnut advice

    The "lugnut" thread was closed.
I did a search on "lugnuts" but could not find this particular piece of advice ...

Never let a service station tighten your lugnuts with a pneumatic impact wrench. I always specify on the work order "tighten lugnuts by hand" and sometime after I get home I loosen and retighten the lugnuts by hand myself just to be sure. Sometimes I have to stand on the lugnut wrench to get them loose. I don't need frozen lugnuts at the side of the road on a rainy night in Georgia.

^^ +1. The last time a shop had the wheels off on my Festiva, I needed a rachet, and 6 ft. iron breaker bar to get them off. I actually bent my stock Festiva lug wrench to where it is now useless.
