  • Motor oil leakage

well i just checked my engine oil and its on low but last month i filed it to full go im guessing i might have a small leak somewhere.

could it be the oil pan?

i figure i just drain the oil then replace the pan, and last refill the oil?

    i could be wrong though.

    lmk whats the procedure guys.

    thanks.

Probability of leak in oil pain very low!
Leak in oil pan gasket low.
Probability of valve gasket leak high.
Just top off the oil till you find the leak.
I'm betting on the ubiquitous valve cover gasket.
And unless you haven't driven very much having to add less than 0.8 qts in a month isn't very alarming.
Just keep and eye on it and hunt for the leak.
cleaning the engine if dirty might be a good place to start.

if u own 87 - 88 -89 check your ported vacuum hoses under the throttle body they might have crack or broken thats where you'll probably find a leak trust i did valve cover to oil pan and i noticed bingo ported vacuum leak throwing oil out while i was driving even when i shut off a cloud of white smoke yup check number #1st

A good thing to do when any loss of oil is suspected is to check the PCV valve...it should be dry and maybe alight brown film or varnish color.
It should not be soaked in oil nor sludged up. It is located in the left side of the valve cover and has a hose that leads to the inteake manifold/plenum.
It is a device that is fequently overlooked during routine tune-up....they are cheap enough they should be changed every year.

1st off do you have any indication that its a leak? Do you have spots on the ground where you park it? If not then you could be burning it.

                Step 1.) Change PCV valve
Step 2.) UV kit to check for seeping leak
Step 3.) www.auto-rx.com can help if it's front/rear main. It won't help valve cover gasket or oil pan. Even if it doesn't stop the leak your gas mileage will go up.
