i remember the first time i changed the plugs on my festiva, it had probably about 210k KMs on it and i didn't think they were coming out, they were rusted pretty bad, the one, the head strip on it, so that made it a real PITA, but eventually i got them all out

Spark Plug Changing

Don't overtighten. Just snug. To insert a plug I stick it into the spark plug socket and put a 3" extension on the other end. Both of them come in the el cheapo 3/8" socket set I use. It's a lot easier to handle that way. Insert gently. Turn backwards until it's seated, then forwards with a light touch until it's in fingertip tight. Then slip the rachet onto the extension and snug up.Original owner of silver grey carburetted 1989 Festiva. 105k km as of June 2006. 140k km as of June 2021.
