  • 97 Aspire Check Engine

Have '97 Aspire. Had check engine light on for throttle position sensor. Have adjusted it and it is now in spec. Here's the questio: If I drive the car long enough with no more codes triggered, will the light go off? If so how many miles or drive cycles?
I'm in New York state and need no codes to pass inspection. Or do I need to reset the box by disconnecting the battery, then drive a while?

Try asking on fordaspire.com I think you need to have the code erased.

I would disconnect the battery for a while. The check engine light should go off then drive the car for a while. If th CE lits again you still have a problem, if not go to inspection!
