  • Windshield Wiper Stripped

Has anyone ever had this happen to them before? My passenger wiper arm can be moved by hand with VERY little force. Its even more amusing when you try to actually use the wiper's as it tries to move but only "catches" some of the times.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

If it's on tight and still slips I'd try wedging a sliver of wood in there for added friction. A toothpick would be my wood of choice.

My question would be. Where can you get replacement arms?

The whole shebang was stripped out but a bit of torque on the nut that holds everything on seems to have worked lol... tried prying it off and "pop" the little plastic deal that covers it all.

Probably - take the thing with you and see if you find a match. If it were me, I'd try shimming it with something first though (beer can, etc.).

Years ago my passenger side stopped working...the problem was not with the arm but in the linkage. From the motor to the passenger spindle is a drive arm, between the drive arm and the spindle is a second small arm. Where this small arm attached to the spindle stripped out. From the factory, this joint is suppose to be rigid, they pressed it together poorly and it stripped out. I remover the entire assembly and from the bootom side of the small arm and spindle, I drilled some small holes and inserted wire (8d nails) to act as keys... Has worked ever since.
