Hi all!
I have 3 questions:Will my bluish smoke affect the emissions test? And,does my Festy have a carbuerator?And,how do I fix my hatch latch? I can open and close it but it won't lock unless I move the little lever over.Then,it won't unlock!Opinions?

For the lock you need to pull the cover off the inside of the hatch. Then make sure the rod is connected to the lock and is retained by the clip.

Does my Festy have a carburator? Depends on the year, all of 1988 and, in my experience, about half of 1989 models are carbed, all other years are FI.

Bluish smoke and emissions? Can't tell you on that one, don't have to pass emissions in WV yet. Thank goodness. Hope this helps, my guess is a little smoke isn't gonna kill you, but alot will cause you problems. Good Luck!! 8)

Depends on the state.

Most states automatically fail you if they can see smoke.

a carb is easy to look for. Pop the hood and look at the top of the engine. If there is a big round thing that looks like a flying saucer then you have a carb. If there is just a hose going into a block with four metal pipes on the other side then you have a FI.
