  • Are the BP head interchangeable between BP model

Do you think I can use the head from an Escort GT (BP) into my 323c LS (BP Too). Cause I have a valve seal problem on my 323 and I have 2 spare head. If yes, can I use the intake manifold from the 323 on the EGT head.

Sorry, these are prolly silly questions that will make some of you chuckle, but hey..

    Thank in advance Maxim

The answer is probably yes for the head swap, but you should check a few things. Basically, look at the head gasket for both types of engine and see if the holes line up. (Or look at the bottom end and the head if they are already apart, of course.) If they do, it works. If not, you have to check what the holes do and decide if it matters. The biggest difference in the B6 bottom ends is that newer, FWD engines had two extra oil return galleys. I recently did a bottom end swap on the B6T to B6ME, and had to plug the oil galleys, but otherwise the B6T head swapped fine.

I have not looked at a BP to check for oil galleys, but you might want to, because that is likely to be the only major difference that could occur.
The intake and exhaust may not swap though. I recall seeing a comment in "wils articles" from the clubprotege site that says very few of Mazda's heads on the B6 have similar intake and exhaust manifolds. i don't know if it is the same case for the BP.
If the intake and exhaust manifolds line up and bolt to the new head then you can certainly swap them and expect it to work. Sorry I don't have first hand experience with the BP to answer this unequivocally.
