  • Removed my distributor... how do I insert into cam?

Ok, i removed my distributor to get to my head about 4 months ago, now i am getting ready to put it back into the head (all new valves, springs), connecting to my camshaft. there is a slot that i don't know which way to put it into the camshaft, as i have a 50/50 chance to put it in right. how do i know by rotating it which stroke i will be on... as the sequence is intake, compression, power, exhaust... i'll either be OK or on the inverted stroke which won't be good.
is there any way to tell on the distributor side which way it is inserted into the cam?

With the cam shaft timing belt marks at TDC, insert the Dist so that when the rotor is installed, it would be point ot the number 1 cylinder on the dist cap....I know this is the correct procedure....I think the no.1 cylinder position is upper left of the cap, 10-11 o'clock position, not sure.

Look at the distributor...I think the keys on mine are different, one's wider than the other...not to sure.
