  • Water in oil But car runs great and doesn't overheat ?

    1991 automatic Festiva
I bought the car with lots of oil in the radiator, it was real bad.
I replaced the Radiator and the head gasket ( The man milling the head told me he didn't see any signs of were the gasket blew) I replaced it and it runs
    perfect .
Took it to emissions and it passed.
Checked the oil when I got home and it's really milky.
    What else could this be.
    Intake gasket ?
The car runs excellent still and does not overheat yet.
    I don't drive it.

It's almost impossible to change a head and not get some water/coolant in the oil. I would try changing the oil and checking it again. Was the oil over filled or did you have low coolant?

      ^^^Very True
It's a good idea to change the oil and filter shortly after a head job because of fluid cross contamination and crap the filter picks up. I would recommend changing the oil and keeping an eye on it.

A machinist is not the likely party to see if the head gasket had blown, possible, but not likely. The most likely observer would be the person who pulled the head and gasket.

        +1 for changing the oil.

I had kind of the same thing happen to me.

There is also a small possibility that the head did not seal correctly, or the deck is warped, ect. But odds are, like stated above, its just cross contamination from doing the head.

I think theres to much water in the oil for it to be left over water but I will change it again.
I think I will also re torque the head bolts
          How do I attach pictures.
