I took mine to Lordco and they said they wouldn't test it. And that there really is no way to test it unless it's hooked up to the car.

Update: I called NAPA and they only charge $76.56(Before tax). I asked why, and they said it was because other parts stores were giving me the price for the 'premium' model. Whereas he was looking at the chinese model which I guess it a bit more closer to stock.

So I picked up the new factory ICM from NAPA..installed it..and still nothing. Now I have to wait for another parts store to get the coil in so I can try replacing that.

      Update!!

After all that..it turned out to be a bad Dist. cap rotor. $10 later and after returning almost $200 worth of parts...the car is running again. Old coil + ICM were fine.

at least now you got a spare ICM and coil

        1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
        1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor

1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

Before I would spent any more $$$$$
Check all of the engine gorunds....run yout faint spark plug test again with the ground of the plug connectted to the negative battery post.
Relplace or clean the rotor....clean the contact area where the carbon post from the center tower make contact. with the rotor...and clean the area where the rotor contacts the individual towers....very light steel wool or sand paper will work.

Do I interpret that to mean you first replaced just the cap, then later did the rotor? I am confused...

Yeah..we didn't think it was the rotor when we first replaced the cap. But after switching out the coil, ICM, and dist. cap, the rotor was the only piece left that we didn't test. So after all of that, that's what it was.
