Is there usually more gaskets in a set than required? There are several in my set that I dont know where the go.. mostly including a bunch of o-rings and copper washers

I wonder that too. Had quite a few left over from my new head gasket set as well.

I think i've always had leftovers... the leftovers from the B6 i knew where they went, they were just some that i already had extras of (and the wrong intake manifold gaskets), but some of the leftovers from the toyota head i did over SB i had no idea where they went... i just toss them on a shelf in case i ever need them!

O-Rings....If four small, all of the same size....might be the fuel rail side of the fuel injectors...I forget if they were in the kit. One o-ring may be the H20 bypass tube from the pump. One O-ring may be the disty body.

Those copper washers....I have no idea...same in my kit. I have seen copper washers between the block and head in other cars.

Hey those left over carb gaskets are highly desirable....posting a few pict may raise some $$ for you or ffc
