  • Engine won't fire

I Have a 1990 festive and 2 weeks ago I sprayed the engine with engine cleaner and water and now the engine won't start. I have no fire at the coil. I have replaced the coil with another one and changed out the ignition mod but still have no fire. What else causes the coil to fire? Any ideas that may help??? The car was starting and running fine till I washed the motor.
    Thanks,

Try spraying sme WD40 in the dist and then wiping it out with a rag.

maybe soaking the fusible links on the fenderwell caused a problem...shorted them out.

check the connector (low voltage) at the distributor. Disconnect it, clean it out and dry it, reconnect it. It's responsible for sending the trigger pulses to the ign module, and the module drives the coil.

I'll update both threads on my solution.

                Time. I think.

Jump in this morning, after all I did yesterday and all the heat and sun drying and it fires up first turn of the key.
