  • Quick Question about EFI idle...

...what's the best way to increase the idle on a 93 Festiva? Working on one that needs to go up a couple hundred RPM's I'm thinking.

I've been messing with 89 carbs too long...

    Thanks,
    Brenton
    Because....45 MPG.

There's an idle screw/bolt, but every time I increase mine the computer turns it back down, so I don't know the whole trick.

        Toset EFI Idle
Warm engine...a rad fan cycle or two
        Nothing on but engine
        Set to park or nuetral
        Gound STI Connector
        Set idle
        Check/adjust timing
        Set idle
        Check/adjust timing
Should set after a couple back and forths.

        Remove jumper

When the jumper is installed...the ECU runs a preprgrammed timing curve and air/fuel ratio.
When you make the timing/idle adjustments...you are adjusting the car to match these preprogramed values.
