  • axle will not come out!!

I am in the middle of replacing the axles on my 91 festiva with 5 speed manual tranny. I have the passenger side done but i have tried and tried to get the driver side out of the tranny with no success. I have tried 1, 2, and 3, prybars but nothing will get it out. any ideas would be appreciated. thanks

sorry for the long wait i have been busy working. well we took some big heavy concrete smasher we found in the garage. solid steel weighs a crapload. Wrapped some steel cable around it, threaded the axle nut onto the axle then wrapped the other end of cable around that. lined it up straight and gave it a 1,2,3, pull with 2 guys on the end of the concrete breaker. oh it came out, flying out. here is the pics lets see if this works because i have not done it before. thanks for the help Fastivaca

                      haha
I have an old cd player/stereo in my work shed that has the tray that pops out to hold 3 cd's. Well, everytime you close it, it cycles, then pops back out. So I put masking tape over it to hold it closed, then labeled it "Redneck Engineering"!...

Levitan - As you can see the drivers side paint is a little sun faded, (but the passenger is not). But hey I got the car for 80 bucks IN RUNNING CONDITION!!! I put a new valve cover gasket on it and a new water pump. I added the stereo w/ handsfree blutooth and speakers. And just last week I put new tires and new axles on it. Heres a couple of pics I don't really have many of the car.
