Man, Jeremy, I can't let Dean have all the fun! I'm gonna stow away in the back of his vehicle!

Focustiva: Because I was told it was was impossible to fit a Focus bumper on a Festiva.

Okay, I've got that 10mm bolt off the gear, but now I can't get the gear to budge! LOL Dang this car is giving me sooo many problems!!

Any tips on removing it w/out breaking off that tab?

Thanks Dean, Barbara and Sam for stopping by!!! It was great seeing you guys! We can have a mini-meet here any time you all want.

So, for everyone reading this and keeping up with this project.... They suggested using vice grips on turn/wiggle the gear loose. Also, Sam suggested that I try to turn the tab length wise as the car.

Also, Dean suggested that I bump the start with the gears engaged, clutch in and see if that will allow the gear to wiggle loose.

I'll let you know how it turns out!

UPDATE: Not much has happened with the Festiva. It's been a mix of weather and time that's kept me from working on it.

This weekend was pretty good weather wise. So I was able to get it off of the jack stands.

I reinstalled the battery to bump the starter and see if I could get the speedo gear out of the tranny. But the starter didn't crank. I found a loose wire, so it may need to be connected to the starter.

I worked on the Aspire and CRX today, so I plan to work on the Festiva some more next weekend.

                    On a side note:

I changed the rear brake pads on the Aspire and bled the brake lines. Then removed the headlight/windshield wiper assembly and replaced the headlight side wiring and control peice. Now my headlights don't blink when I hit the signal switch.

I also removed the upper timing belt cover on the CRX and found out the timing belt isn't broken at all. And once I realized that, I jumped off the battery and the car actually ran! I couldn't believe it! I even drove it around the neighborhood!
