My steering wheel starts shaking/vibrating when i start driving fast, limits me to back roads pretty much. Is this a common festiva problem or can i fix this some how??

Not common, might have a bad tire.

Mine started doing that once but at 55 instead of 45. Rebalancing the tires fixed the problem.

All the above may be bad. But, You have a bad wheel bearing on the drivers side.

            Ida bet on it.

              Quick & free test...rotate the tires...if the problem goes away...it's tire/rim related.

roll windows down with passenger at this speed and make sure your tire isn't ready to fall off... watch for wobble and problems etc...
