Car won't start. 5 speed.
Car turns over great.
Was told timing belt was broken. Checked, timing belt not broken. (Will check for alignment of timing gears to make sure it hasn't jumped a tooth or seven, later this evening)
Fuel button is good on left rear strut tower(I should know the name of that)
Have spark from wire to sparkplug.
Spray brake fluid in intake(started Maude this way, which determined fuel pump failure), then later starting fluid, no pop, no nuthin'.
I have Haynes Manual, '92 factory service manual ( yes, the car is a '91, but I don't have a '91 manual, only a '92 and a '90...I opted to use the '92) and a '92 EVTM.
Went to do the Haynes Manual. 6-6 says "Note: possible to read trouble codes from the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Ground STI and GND terminals with jumper."
Page 6-5 shows pic of '90 to '93 Diagnostic terminal. Shows STI and STO.
------I do not see a GND "terminal". Or does it mean jumper from STI to any ground?---
------Do I need to back up and first check timing alignment?-----
------Am I on the right diagnostic path?--------------
Any help would be appreciated.
