  • Fusible Link problem solved.

The fusible link module in the Festiva is a universal design, the FLF (fusible link female). The fusible wires installed by KIA at the factory saved the company around $3.00 per car. When you make millions of cars a few dollars saved on each adds up.

You can get the FLF cartridges at Walmart or any auto parts store. I paid $4.00 at O'Reillys. I used a 30 AMP for the main.

    Here's some pictorial proof.

Sorry to bump an old post. I see you used a 30A fuse for the main...what size did you use for the other two?

I'm running 40 on the main and 30 for the other two, but that's just me.

40A center with two 30A on each side is the recommended size. (Ford changed the numbers around a few years after all the info went to the manuals)

Bumping to say thanks. Did something stupid, fried the fusible link, replaced with a FLF, things work great now. Very glad to keep my 92 GL on the road with gas heading up again.
