  • 90-93 5 speed in an 88-89?

I would think that there would be no problem changing years for the 5 speed transmission. I just want to make sure before I pick one up that a 90-93 5 speed will work for my 89? I tried to search and hopefully this isnt a completely retarded question.

    Thanks,
    Sean

They work. Remember that you will have an extra connector/sending unit on the early 4 spd that is the sender for the "shift" light on the "L" model std cluster. You will not be using this connector once you do the swap.

I surely would have posted that question after my swap. Thanks for the advanced notice. Not that I ever needed that light anyways.
