  • Heater?

When iam driving in town (winter) the heater is fine- very hot and have to turn it down after a while, but if its cold out side like 4-5 degrees and iam driving on the highway the air that comes out is only just warm???

why does the heater word very well in town but on the highway not so well- on the highway i do pretty long jounies so the engine is warm, both when iam driving in town and on the highway the temp needle is in the same place. (in the middle somewhere)

I get the same thing in my car. In the winter I usually put cardboard behind my grill to stop the rush of cold air from cooling my radiator and engine so fast.

Well I don't like to knock my or any Festiva , BUT
It's like driving a uninsulated pop can , sitting still in the driveway in the winter it warms up fine , start moving down the road in your uninsulated pop can and it will cool down on the room temp for sure
Try the carbboard trick , it does work , just don't totally close it off.

Yeah use cardboard. The little engine trys so hard to stay warm in the winter.

also try recirculate instead of outside air setting. the faster you go the less time the heater has to warm the air passing by it.

only problem w/ recirculate is your windows will get foggy easier and quicker.
