The cooling holes on the bottom? I don't remember mine having any on my b3 when I did it a couple months ago, those ports where covered up completely I think, I may be wrong. Isn't there still those black and white brake downs of the motor drawing that would show it?

Both your and mine orientation are the same....correct.
The 'missing holes' are the same for both of ours.
I'm not aware of any diiferences between B3 and B6 blocks other than bores.
The light brown holes/impressions in my pict are water stains from the head...no thru holes.
