  • Cut out at exactly 2,500 RPM

For 2 weeks when cold or on a restart , my car would cut out at 2,500 rpm in 1st and every gear after that , and if you cruised at that rpm it would just start bucking , It was like you just shut the key off and right back on .

It use to do this a long time ago , but at 1,800 rpm .

If you had it smashed in 1st gear , it would break the tires loose when it came back on ..LOL

I unplugged every terminal and plug in , VAF,TPS,O2,coil, disty .
I even took the disty apart and sprayed inside under the metal cover .
I used a brass brush on all the terminals and sprayed them out with contact cleaner

All the problems went away after that , no problems today at all , 1st time in 2 weeks .

My new V/C gasket was leaking after powder coat job , took it back apart and cleaned it up and resealed it while I was that far into it .

Ahhhh our problem shows it's face again huh? I've never figured mine out. I just turn the key off then back on real quick hehehehe. I'm always so busy fixing other people's stuff and mine gets neglected.

Ain't that the truth..... both cases. How about a full rich condition after 1 hr run time, only under 40 deg. Stop 5 minutes, you get another hr. That is where he gets the name "The Curmudgeon" from. Oh... and then there is the house....

Hey, just let me know....I do awesome work!! I just went to upstate New York and remodeled my uncle's bathroom. I tiled the bottom portion of his wood shower and tiled his bathroom/laundryroom floor. Send me your email address, and I'll get you some pictures of before and after shots of my work.
