  • Shift Linkage dead ,, need quick answer Please

I lost the ability to shift into 3rd and 5th quickly followed by 2nd/4th/Rev ,, luckily the car is at a safe place for the night but I will need to repair the linkage ASAP tomorrow when I can see what I'm doing... Does the Ford dealer still carry linkage parts? If not what is a good sized bolt to use and what have others used as a quick fix replacement for the bushing?

I made mine from a piece of teflon I had at work and turned them on a lathe. Wil has a how to article on replacing them http://www.projectmazda.com/howto/bushings/. They do sell replacement bushings, maybe someone will post where to get them from.

Thanks ,, due to the fact that I had good shift action up to the point when it was lost I may have just lost the nut especially as it would seem that the bushings design would make it difficult to lose... I'll find some metric nuts that take a 14mm socket with a fine thread and a fender washer back to the car later today and see what I can do... worst case is that I manually select 2nd or 3rd and drive it home with the one gear and fix it later..
