Yes, I did search. Only thing I was able to find was how to set the timing on a carbed Festiva. Autozone's online repair guide says to let the engine run up to temperature, connect the timing light and go. That's it? On my last car I had to run a wire from one terminal on a diagnostic connector to another terminal on the same connector. So there's none of that involved for the Aspire? What should the timing be set at? Is it safe to go a few degrees above factory timing?

Well I went out and tried to adjust the timing. I couldn't find the reference on the pulley or the block so I had to do it by ear. I got it set now so that when I hit the gas in neutral it doesn't make that sick moose roar sound you hear when a carbed car is out of time. Now when I hit the gas, it just hesitates a small bit then revs up normally sounding.
