  • uneven braking

My brakes are OK...most of the time giving good firm braking power. However, my right front wheel just began intermittently locking up. My Festiva doesn't seem to pull right or left. When the wheel does lock up, braking isn't good. Releasing the brake & reapplying returns good strong even braking. Is it time for new pads or is my braking problem indicative of worse problems?

    Failing caliper gets my vote!
And because you have provided no other info such as mileage or maintenance, I will assume you've never replace the flex lines connected to the caliper.
Recommend replacing the calipers as a pair as well as the flex lines.
Replace both every 100,000 miles on my cars.
At the mileage they owe you nothing!
