  • Car does not start

i have a 89 carbed model i just got done changing the carb and i started the car it worked fine but idled a little rough. so i took the air cleaner back off and adjusted some vaccum lines up and when i put it all back together i went to start my car and nothing just nothing turn the key and nothing happends at all. so thinking i killed the battery i just push start it backwards out of my driveway and just drive around for 5 min and then shut the car off again but when i go to restart it nothing happens no click no noise just nothing. i have no clue what i did or how i did it any suggestions?

note: tryed to started it a few times only works when i push start it

maybe a loose battery terminal? though i'm not sure it would stay running with that...
    starter wire came off?

Test your battery or take it somewhere to get it tested.

i'd say that but for it to suddenly not work instead of becoming weaker over a period of time, something must have come off or loosened.
i've had the loose battery deal happen to a friend. thought all hope was lost, but someone touched the wire by accident and the alarm went off, because it was reset blah blah blah, yall know how that works

Check to see if there is a grounding wire that got pulled out. I think it goes to either the engine block or starter. I had to replace that section of my 89 harness because of the same condition. No noise, no start.
