  • Fuel Filter Change

Quick question as I am a novice mechanic. I've done a complete tune up with the exception of the fuel filter (93GL, EFI) and now want to change that. I need to release the system pressure but do not have a gauge nor can I find the fuel cutoff. Any suggestions on how to relieve the pressure before I remove the filter?

Got the fuel filter changed but now the car won't start. Won't even turn over. I checked the battery and it's fine. All I did was change the filter. What could I have missed? The owner before me put the wrong filter on so I had to put the correct one on but doubt that has anything to do with it. Please help!!!

When you say won't turn over...
it tries to, but won't, or is there no response at all?

There is a small wire that goes on the starter. Maybe you bumped the wire off.

^^That's what I was thinking, if there's no response at all.

I get lights but no click, turn over or anything. I thought maybe I tripped the fuel shutoff but it would still try to turn over. I will check the starter wire.

Great call guys!!! The wire was still in tact but loose. Just a touch, a little tightening and she's purring like a kitten. Thanks
