if my 92 festie has a defective o2 sensor woudnt that cause the service engine soon or similar light to illuminate.Any reply would be appreciated. 8).in addition if my poor litten needs one does anyone have a good used one i can get fur cheap.thank you one and all for listening.

Yes a bad O2 sensor will light up the service engine soon indicator... the "stalls/hard to restart" problem you mentioned wouldn't immediately lead me to an O2 sensor... can you give a better description or narrow down the conditions that this happens under? This sounds as if it is fuel related but there are other things involved...

My 93 used a generic single wire sensor ,,, cost was $19.99-$22.99 at the stores I called .. bought the Bosch unit at $19.99 ,, you had to splice in your pigtail (splice and shrink included with sensor)... why buy used and have it go bad again soon?

festie still cranks hard to start

to date ihave regapped excellent condition plugs(like new).replaced the air filter w/a modified taurus filter.the distributor is cranked to the right ,i believe this to be the same problem as my 89 misaligned timing belt will investigate soon.today I i tested the o2 sensor (no light on) initially it read .119 i lightly tapped on the sensor it read .922.snap checked accel was much better,test drove the little beauty wow what a difference !excellent power for what she has lol.parked her collected all preps to go to work had all my stuff packed cranked the engine hiccupped cranked no start.collected all my stuff into my ma inlaws grocery getter 96 taurus station wgn and booked off to work made it just in time.i have found a new love, festie .com.
