  • Rear shock bolt problem...

    Went to change shocks and I rounded the head,slightly and could not get the bolt to even move.I am afraid of totally stripping it.Any ideas,guys ?

      Cut the bottom of the strut mount off and cut the rubber off around the bolt. Take a cut off wheel and cut the inner sleeve off the bolt. You can now lift the strut up off the bolt and heat the bolt and the nut on the inner side of the beam and back it out with some vice grips.

        Horseplay suggested one way. If you do a search on this subject you will find several other ways. There is lots of discussion on how these rust up and stick badly. No matter what, it is just an ugly job, and you definitely want to do a search on all the methods we have all tried. (you can't drill it out, by the way.)
