Jacked car (93 L) up to change rear shocks.Later when I started to go to work it would not start.Never, not even once, has this car not started on the first try.Was thinking gas not getting there or something.Has new cap, rotor, plugs, wires all as of a mth ago.Could jacking the car up cause this for some reason unknown 2 me or just a coincidence ?

Have you looked at the fuel cutoff switch mounted in the rear of the car? There is a reset button. It really should not go off just from jacking up the car, unless there was a heavy shock when it came back down. But it is a quick and easy check. After that, check for fuel flow. Perhaps the pump was on its last legs?Thricetiva replaced Icetiva as the new ride

It WAS the fuel cut-off switch.Pushed it in and started right up.I have never even heard of it.Also,I don't know how it could have shut off.Is there a way to delete this ?I personally don't see a need for it.I know why it is there, but,if I wanted to take it out can it be bypassed ?

^^My dad bypassed the fuel cut-off switch in my last festiva, just tie the wires together that go into the switch
1988 323 Station Wagon - KLG4 swapped
1988 323 GT - B6T Powered
2008 Ford Escape - Rollover Survivor
1990 Festiva - First Ever Completed KLZE swap (SOLD)
If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?

I have "rescued" a couple of stranded Escort, and other Ford drivers with the trunk/hatch pop, button push boogie.. makes'em feel silly, but like you said, if you don't know, you don't know..
I wonder how many unscrupulous shops have made tons of money pushing the button and charging for lord knows what???Have had 6 Festys... and counting...

So the moral of the story, NEVER RESET A DRUNK PERSON'S CUTOFF SWITCH!
No matter how much snow they are stuck in.
I would imagine there has been a lot of money made by shops and towing companies due to the cutoff switch.
